New Magnetic series by Frascold
The answer to Tier 2
The range designed to meet the stringent SEER, SEPR and SCOP standards.
There have been some significant changes in the air conditioning sector, dictated by the need to comply with increasingly stringent international regulations in terms of efficiency. In particular, in Europe, the players of the sector have been searching for conditioning technologies, heat pumps and chillers able to meet the parameters of the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, related to the second Tier 2 temporal phase, which came into force on 1st January 2021, and to 2012/27/EU. In this sense, Frascold has launched Magnetic, the series of compact screw compressors with innovative IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motors, capable of ensuring the best energy performance, particularly with partial load.
The range, designed to meet the stringent SEER, SEPR and SCOP standards required, is ideal in the comfort and process cooling segment and for heat pump applications. Magnetic offers a wide range of cooling capacities, thanks to the 5 models ranging from 170 to 310 HP, for volumetric displacements from 137 m3/h to 1,054 m3/h.
At the heart of the Magnetic line is the synchronous motor with magnets in the electric rotor, which eliminates slippage and ensures more accurate speed control, in order to achieve high cooling capacities, even with small compressors. Another advantage of choosing IPM motors is the significant reduction in power consumption, compared to traditional solutions, in favour of greater energy savings.
In addition to reduced consumption, their strengths are reliability, simplicity and flexibility, as well as integration into any type of system. In this sense, it is possible to achieve Tier 2 standards, without the need for sophisticated system solutions, leaving manufacturers complete freedom in designing and configuring the system, even when it comes to choosing the inverter. The latter allows for speeds between 1,000 and 5,400 rpm to be reached, has a wide range of settings (20-100% nominal) and guarantees a soft start-up.
Finally, the compressors are equipped with a built-in 2-level Vi control system that guarantees high performance levels by automatically adapting to the different operating conditions. The Vi control is able to change the shape of the compressor's discharge port, by means of an adjustment module located in the electrical box and already wired to the pressure transducers and to the control valve
