New electrical box validation
Size S – Transcritical CO₂ Heavy Duty and Subcritical Series
New electrical box for size S compressors, for the Transcritical CO₂ and Subcritical CO₂ series.
A new electrical box for S-size compressors has recently been validated, intended for the Heavy Duty Transcritical CO2 and Subcritical CO2 series.
The new solution represents a functional evolution compared to the previous version, developed with the aim of improving cable management, accessibility during installation, and the overall level of protection against water and dust, while maintaining full interchangeability with existing configurations.
The update introduces an increase in the available internal space, allowing easier and more organized wiring both with 6-PIN plates and with the new 9-PIN plates, without any changes to the external dimensions of the compressor. It should be noted that the 9-PIN version allows the use of motors with a 9-conductor winding, enabling the adoption of multiple connection schemes on the same compressor, both in direct-on-line starting (DOL 230v/3ph/60Hz or 460v/3ph/60Hz) and Part Winding Start (PWS 230v/3ph/60Hz), providing high versatility.
The new box is certified with an IP66 protection rating, ensuring complete dust-tightness and resistance to high-pressure water jets from any direction, resulting in increased reliability under demanding operating conditions.
Compared to the previous version, the new solution also introduces pre-arranged holes for access to the box and cable routing, simplifying installation operations and reducing wiring time. Finally, a dedicated terminal board for auxiliary wiring has been integrated, representing a significant technical and qualitative improvement in terms of organization, safety, and management of internal connections.
The new box is fully interchangeable with the previous version, sharing the same mounting points and requiring no modifications to the compressor or existing mounting interfaces.
The solution is available for both UL-certified compressor versions and non-UL versions, ensuring full applicability across different target markets.
