CO₂ - TRANSCRITICAL SERIES - UL

Frascold transcritical reciprocating compressors, available with UL certification, are recommended for use with CO₂ natural refrigerants and are the perfect solution for the commercial, industrial, transport, process cooling and heat pump sectors. The models in this series are suitable for single-phase or integrated, booster and cascade systems and have been designed to withstand high plant downtime pressure, guaranteeing perfect maintenance and correct start-up.

The particularly strong construction of the compressors allows them to operate with high operating delivery pressures of 140 bar(a) and a maximum plant downtime pressure (PSS) of 80 bar(a) and, for models in the D and Z series, of 100 bar(a).

This series, developed using the latest technologies, guarantees high performance and safety standards.

High safety

Low oil carryover

Frascold transcritical reciprocating compressors are designed to guarantee low oil carryover, minimising losses and providing high protection and lubrication for all moving parts. This guarantees optimal, high-quality operation, while also ensuring maximum efficiency and the highest performance.

High standstill pressure (PSS)

The high standstill pressure (PSS) of all the transcritical reciprocating compressors in the CO2 series allows the correct management of plant downtime pressure, guaranteeing perfect maintenance and a quick start-up, without having to use active or passive systems.

Compact and quiet design

Frascold subcritical reciprocating compressors are unique in their lightness, compactness and quietness, which allows them to be used in a very wide operating range and also in small systems.

CapaFlex TM mechanical regulation

The CapaFlex^TM capacity control system, exclusively available on Frascold compressors for transcritical applications, helps regulate the flow rate transfer of CO2 refrigerants through suction inlets. The alternating periods of opening and closing of the suction inlets allows proper partialisation of the compressor, guaranteeing optimal loads and preventing on-off cycles as much as possible.

Frascold - CO2 Industrial system in Australia

The first full transcritical CO₂ industrial refrigeration system by Frascold presented in Australia

Frascold contributed to the creation, in Australia, of the first full transcritical CO2 refrigeration system for industrial application, using Frascold compressors at the core of a wider installation, which involved a local wholesaler in the New South Wales. The project included the construction of a wing for the presentation and storage of fresh and frozen products, a meat processing area, a dedicated entrance for sales and a loading-unloading area.
